  75. This package contains BOOT'R (TM) by Stevenson Technical Services, Inc.
  76. (STSI).  This document contains only a brief description of the package
  77. and its features, along with instructions for its installation.  Quite
  78. detailed documentation is included in the package, but it is in archived
  79. form, and is more easily read after installation.

  81. BOOT'R allows the management of multiple configurations on a single
  82. machine. BOOT'R can modify the CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, and more.
  83. Modify up to 5 files for each configuration.  Useful for changing files
  84. such as NET.CFG too!  Ideal for creating custom configurations for
  85. memory-hungry games.  Easy to use push-button interface with mouse
  86. support!  Online reference tools are included for the CONFIG.SYS,
  87. AUTOEXEC.BAT, and NET.CFG files.

  90. without charge (see BOOTR.DOC for more details).  If you like the

  115. ===== Installation =====================================
  116.  
  117. The installation procedure for BOOT'R is quite simple.  The package
  118. includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the entire process.
  119. You will need about 1 megabyte of available disk space on the hard drive
  120. on which you plan to install BOOT'R.
  121.  
  122. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received BOOT'R.
  123.  
  124.  
  125. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  126.  
  127. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  128.  
  129. 1. Place BOOT'R distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the appropriate
  130.    diskette drive.
  131.  
  132. 2. Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  133.    For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  134.    the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  135.  
  136. 3. Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. You
  137.    will have a chance to approve installation before any changes are
  138.    actually made to the contents of your hard drive. The program will
  139.    ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the BOOT'R
  140.    files to that directory.  If you received BOOT'R on two
  141.    diskettes, you will need to insert Disk 2 in the diskette drive
  142.    when asked to do so.  If you so direct it, the installation
  143.    program will install executable programs and documentation in
  144.    other directories of your choice.

  147. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  148.  
  149. If you downloaded BOOT'R from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  150. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  151. following steps.
  152.  
  153. 1. Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  154.    directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this varies,
  155.    depending on the form in which you received the package. In all
  156.    likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means that you
  157.    already have the necessary tools and knowledge to perform this step.
  158.    If not, you should be able to obtain directions for this from the
  159.    same source from which you received the package.
  160.  
  161. 2. Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  162.    example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted the
  163.    files is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS command,
  164.    "c:\tempdir\install".

  166. 3. Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. You
  167.    will have a chance to approve installation before any changes are
